A Shade of Blues arguably has one of the best locations on Bequia - privately situated directly above the golden sand at Princess Margaret Beach. A Shade of Blues offers great options for families or groups of friends. The 2 bedroom apartment has its own independent access, and can be rented together with A Shade of Blues Studio for up to 6 guests.

Lovely pool & beach location

This excellent Bequia vacation base overlooks one of Bequia's best beaches, Princess Margaret Beach. Just a stones throw from the warm turquoise waters, where you can take a dip or explore some fantastic snorkeling spots. Beach towels can be provided if required. The walk back up to the villa from the beach is short but steep and is well worth it for the view!The recently completed Belmont Walkway makes a stroll into Port Elizabeth along the coastal path possible, just a few minutes away.

The villas pool and huge sun deck is in a central location at the heart of the property, so a relaxing dip is easy from all the rooms. With large deck area perfect for sunbathing and soaking up those magnificent views. Apartment guests are welcome to use the villa pool anytime between 9am & 9pm.

Excellent Bequia villa Rental

Completed in 2010 this property is finished to a high standard and a cool, calm relaxing atmosphere. With the added bonus of air conditioning in the bedrooms for those warmer nights.

The infinity edge pool overlooking Princess Margaret offers a wonderful place to either cool off with a quick dip or bathe in the warm Caribbean sun. The pool is located on the lower ground level and is shared with any occupants in the Studio.

Kitchen and dining areas

There is a fully functioning, open plan, well equipped eat-in kitchen, which opens up right onto the rear shared patio / BBQ area. Apartment guests can also make use of the built in BBQ facilities located just outside the apartment kitchen. Provisions can be pre-ordered, a service charge of 20USD plus cost of provisions to be paid upon arrival.

2 Double bedrooms

The apartment has two bedrooms - one with queen bed and one with twin beds which have the option of king size when pushed together - each has a private bathroom, consisting of a beautiful outside shower opened to the Caribbean sky and separate wc. Both bedrooms open out onto the west facing balcony, wonderful to enjoy the sunsets. Guests can enjoy a cooling breeze via the louvered french windows in the bedroom. Air Conditioning has been installed for evening use and there are also standing and ceiling fans in each of the bedrooms if you prefer.

From the shady balcony there are lovely ocean views right out over Admiralty Bay. The apartment is privately located at the top of the building, accessible via external steps up from the pool area.

Additional accommodation available

A Shade of Blues Apartment can also be booked in conjunction with the Shade of Blues Studio option with complimentary breakfast and maid service, providing an additional double bedroom.

Please Note:

The main driveway to the property can be tricky to negotiate and any apartment guests with a vehicle are kindly asked to please park in the car park below and walk up the steps. For luggage and heavy items special arrangements can be made for delivery. The owners prefer only their designated taxi driver, Julian, to negotiate the drive.

If guests want to invite others to the villa please do so whilst being sensitive to others who may be using the property. Please note that only paying rental guests may use the pool. Please inform the rental agent prior to inviting extra guests to the property during the evening, in particular.

Recommended for Wedding Groups

A Shade of Blues works well for large groups visiting Bequia for a wedding or family or friends reunion, especially when linked with other villas that are very close by, including:Gumbo Limbo, Piperie, Princess Hill, Turtle Point and Flamingo.

Air Con Usage

The apartment was designed for open air living with large windows for maximum airflow - the building is not efficient for air conditioning and runs at considerable cost here on Bequia where electricity is very expensive. To cool the bedrooms comfortably for sleeping the air con is on a timer from 7-11pm when all windows / doors should be closed for maximum efficiency. Additional funds will be requested should the air con be left running during the day or the meter show excessive air con usage.
