This intimate collection of seven beautifully spacious solar-powered villas is secretly set amongst two acres of hillside above the one mile long Magazine Beach. Amidst vibrant colours of lush tropical rainforest and turquoise blue ocean vistas and overlooking the mountains beyond, it really is a peaceful oasis and a little taste of paradise!The walk from your villa down the hill to the beach only takes 2-3 minutes, depending on which corner of our tropical garden your bana is located in.

Macabana

Maca' is the ancient Arawak word for tree, 'bana' means place of dwelling . Maca Bana is a unique blend of privacy, individuality and the personal services of a tiny boutique hotel. Combining space and luxury Macabana offers two one-bedroom banas and five deluxe banas with two bedrooms. The deluxe villas can be rented using either one or both bedrooms. All seven spacious villas are air-conditioned and beautifully appointed with gorgeous ocean views from the hot tub of every sun deck.

Pool and ponds

The villas are scattered throughout the enchanting tropical garden with a koi pond and terrapin pond, connected by a babbling waterfall feature, allowing for total privacy and maximum views. In the heart of the lush garden is our saline infinity-edge swimming pool.

Ideally situated

Macabana is situated in Point Salines on the southern part of Grenada's quaint capital city parish of St. George's. It is off the beaten path, yet still conveniently close to banks,shops, restaurants and nightlife - most of these are only 5-15 minutes driveaway. It is 5 minutes away from Maurice Bishop International Airport, 7 minutes from Grand Anse Beach and 15-20 minutes from St. George's. Finding your way around Grenada is easy and the owners will be happy to help you with any rental car arrangements you require.

Plenty to do and learn

From a luxurious spa treatment to gentle exercises, there's lots to do here. You can treat yourself to private art tuition or cookery lessons. Explore this beautiful country through the eyes of a passionate chef, an enchanted artist or a down-to-earth farmer on the organic farming project in the rainforest.

The Aquarium, Beachside Restaurant

Open daily except Mondays from 10.00 am until late, offering snacks throughout the day, lunches and dinners (a la carte). On Sundays we have our popular all day BBQ from noon on with a live Reggae band playing in the afternoon. Most other restaurants and bars are within 5-15 minutes driving distance.

Banks, Pharmacies & Supermarkets

The next supermarket, banks, pharmacies etc. are a 5 minutes drive away in Grand Anse.

Cuisine with local produce

Visit our rainforest farm in the country where organically grown fruit and short crops are harvested for the in-house Aquarium Restaurant and for individual cookery lessons in the guests' kitchen. Our cuisine fuses international dishes with local spices and flavours, inspired by our enthusiastic Grenadian chefs and motivated by Uli's heartfelt hospitality. We aim to create an exceptional but informal culinary experience in a tropical setting, accompanied by excellent wines, good company and warm smiles.

Anything further that you wish to have in the villa when you arrive can be added for a small fee. Maca Bana is an enchanting hideaway, uniquely charming, relaxed and peaceful. It offers the utmost privacy, individuality and green luxury in a personal and friendly atmosphere. During your stay we can organise spa treatments, as well as private yoga or meditation sessions. A chef from Aquarium Restaurant can come up to your villa and cook a delicious dinner for you or give a private cookery lesson where you will learn how to make a local speciality. Our beach-side restaurant, "The Aquarium" opens daily, Tuesday to Sunday, from 10.00 am until late. The restaurant and our La Sirena Beach Bar serve lunch and dinner (a la carte).
