Property Details
This modern villa, built in 2010, has one of the best locations on Bequia. A Shade of Blues is situated directly above the golden sand of Princess Margaret Beach, a beautiful unspoilt crescent of sand named after the Royal Princess Margaret who enjoyed swimming there when she visited the island from nearby Mustique.
"The building was designed to give occupants space and privacy"
- A Shade of Blues Owner
Flexible Layout
A Shade of Blues, named after the owners love of all things jazz, has been run successfully as a flexible vacation rental property, with owners residence, since its construction in 2010.
The house has been let as a villa for up to 8 guests in 4 en suite bedrooms plus 2 additional guest washrooms.
The top level of the property houses the 2 bedroom self contained apartment. The master bedroom, full kitchen, lounge room, air conditioned gym and guest w.c is on the main floor, below is a further en suite double bedroom along with pool-side kitchenette and w.c.
All options have their own private access and balconies and can be let separately from the main house or as one. The house design has given the owners the opportunity to enjoy the island with family whilst letting sections of the house and generating revenue.
Living Areas
There is a casual living/entertainment/tv room that opens off the main balcony area. A Shade of Blues also has a large office space in the hallway, along with a guest w.c. This is an open air environment with a beautiful view of the sea. All living areas are cooled by ceiling fans.
Safe & Secure
Considerable rock excavations were carried out to create a solid and secure base for this high quality build. A security system is in place within the villa offering additional peace of mind for the new owners if desired.
Landscaped Grounds with Gazebo
The house sits amongst relatively mature landscaped grounds that continue to enhance the property. The large Gazebo situated up above the house with cooling breezes and stunning views - is the perfect place to enjoy some yoga or even as a delightful art studio...
Dancing Deck & Outdoor Showers
There are stylish outdoor showers with views over the bay beneath, an outdoor kitchenette / BBQ area close to the pool, complete with dancing deck, perfect for parties and celebrations.
Hugely Successful Vacation Rental Property
Due to the villas location, degree of comfort and flexibility this property is one of the islands most popular vacation rental properties. There are 5 rental options available catering for practically every possible combination of family or group size.
4 Double Bedrooms
The double bedrooms each have their own private bathroom, consisting of a w.c. and a beautiful private outdoor shower open to the Caribbean sky. The main house bedrooms have their own private balconies, and the apartment bedrooms open out onto a shared balcony. All rooms enjoy lovely, expansive views of the beach and Admiralty Bay, and face west to enjoy the glorious sunsets. All bedrooms (and the fitness suite) have
air conditioning and
ceiling fans.
Multiple Roof Structures
A Shade of Blues stands out above the
beach, distinctive in colour and by design. The owners spent a great
deal of time selecting the finishes and features within the property.
The resultant property is extremely strong.
Location Above All...
This house is all about the location, Princess Margaret Beach - considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The house would not have existed anywhere else on the island, the heavenly beach below is the reason for its construction. To the west is the equally lovely and slightly livelier Lower Bay beach - also within walking distance.
Jacks Beach Bar
On nearby Princess Margarets Beach, just
a few steps down from the house is Jack's Bar, a stylish and popular
venue providing entertainment for residents and tourists alike. Just
around the headland along the beautiful scenic coastal walkway is Plantation
House Hotel and numerous bars and restaurants in Port Elizabeth, all within walking
distance.

Princess Margaret
This is a favourite beach for visiting yachts and has a great convivial atmosphere. Gorgeous, deep coral sand beach. Excellent swimming. Beautiful trees for shade... There's even a cave to explore! Now with a spectacular beach restaurant. Best reached either by water, there is a pretty wooden jetty for a dinghy to the harbour, or via the Belmont Walkway Coastal Path from Port Elizabeth. Above and behind the beach a handful of special houses nestle amongst the trees or on the headland. brightly painted hand made boats rest in the shade of palms and sea grape.
